We are recruiting for a Registered Nurse-Urgent Treatment Centre who shares our vision to be trusted to provide consistently outstanding care and exemplary service to our patients.

This post will require a registered nurse from a back ground of adult or children's to work in the Urgent Treatment Centre in the Lister Hospital.

This department cares for minor injury and minor illness. The successful candidate will be working along Emergency Nurse Practitioners / Advanced Nurse Practitioners / GP and Emergency Medical Technicians.

The main responsibility of the role will be to triage patients. You will be expected to identify the presenting presentation from patients and stream to the appropriate clinician to see and treat the diagnosis.

### Main duties of the job

On a day-to-day basis this role aims to ensure that the overall co-ordination of demand on urgent and emergency care services is effectively managed across the service.

The key role is to assist the Emergency Nurse Practitioners and GPs in maintaining a safe environment, delivering a high standard of care, and maintaining the well-being and dignity of patients, both adult and children. This will involve real time monitoring of demand and capacity, which will therefore enable the appropriate and efficient streaming of patients to the most appropriate services.

You must have appropriate UK professional registration.

This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (Amendment) (England and Wales) Order 2020 and it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service.

- Evidence of good communication skills both written and verbal
- Ability to work within a multi-disciplinary team
- Good self-awareness of professional limitations within NMC Code of Conduct
- Ability to prioritise workload and demonstrate good organisational skills
- Computer literacy

**Desirable**

- Venipuncture and cannulation

### Knowledge

**Essential**

- Knowledge of Trust Values and evidence of this in practice.
- Good understanding of good quality patient care and patient safety.

### Previous Experience

**Essential**

- Clinical experience within the field of acute clinical setting.
- Current working knowledge and skills within acute clinical setting.
- Experience of caring for patients with minor injury / minor illness complaints.

### Qualifications / Training

**Essential**

- Registered Nurse on part 1, part 2 or part 12 of the NMC register
- Manchester Triage Trained
- Evidence of further education, training and on-going learning
- Ability to produce updated personal professional portfolio

**Desirable**

- Evidence of Assessing and Mentorship qualification
- Evidence of appropriate Specialist Qualification
