We're looking for several Registered Nurses to join our Inpatient Unit at Newcastle Hospice on a 12-month fixed-term contract.

### Job responsibilities

We are currently recruiting several Registered Nurses to join the Inpatients Unit at Newcastle Hospice on a 12-month fixed term contract

Salary: Marie Curie Clinical Pay Scale (aligned with AFC) Band 5 £32,073 - £39,043 per annum + enhancements

Hours: Full Time or Part Time 37.5 hours per week

Shift pattern:(Days 7.30 am 8 pm, Nights 7.30 pm 8 am)

Contract: 12 months Fixed Term

Based:Newcastle Hospice

As a Marie Curie Nurse, you will provide high-quality nursing care and participate in the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of the care needs for patients in a palliative care setting, helping them live their final days with dignity.

You'll be part of a supportive team that truly cares about you and your development. Using a patient-centred approach and evidenced based practice, assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care and co-ordinate care from admission to discharge. You will be expected to administer medication and treatment as prescribed in accordance with the NMC's and the Charity's policies and guidelines. You will also provide emotional, psychological and spiritual support for patients and carers.

- RGN level 1 registration
- Ability to demonstrate an understanding of palliative care and the needs of patients with complex symptoms as well as at end of life.

## Person Specification

### Experience

**Essential**

- Working with minimal /without supervision
- Recent experience of working in a healthcare environment and providing care for people at the end of their lives

**Desirable**

- Experience of working in a specialist palliative care setting
- Experience of working Hospice / community setting

### Qualifications

**Essential**

- Registered Nurse on NMC register (Adult)
- Ability to demonstrate continued professional development

**Desirable**

- Relevant post-registration training for example: palliative and end of life care/ leadership/quality improvement
- Clinical supervisor
