The Chemotherapy Day Unit treats patients with a wide variety of systemic anti-cancer therapies. The unit is currently opened Monday to Friday, and we work closely with other units one on site and one at our acute trust site. Mount Vernon is one of the largest single site Cancer Centres in England and is an innovative and exciting place to work. We are internationally renowned for radiotherapy, chemotherapy, patient support services and research and therefore, you will be joining a cancer centre offering significant career development opportunities. In addition, you will receive a High-Cost Area Supplement of 15% of your basic salary, subject to a minimum payment of £4,552 and a maximum payment of £5,735 per annum pro rata. We encourage you to embrace these values throughout the recruitment process and in your role with us. ### Main duties of the job The Chemotherapy Registered Nurse will undertake and assist in the safe administration of cytotoxic chemotherapy, immunotherapy and monoclonal anti-bodies within the Oncology patient group, whilst also providing on-going support to patients and their carers. You will ensure that nursing care within the chemotherapy unit is a high standard and in accordance with hospital polices, procedures and standards and adheres to the Units philosophy. The post holder will provide a high quality service of care to patients and significant others and to promote a good learning environment. To support the Senior Nurse for Chemotherapy Services in all aspects of that role, as well as the other members of the team. The successful candidate would ideally have some experience of working within oncology and delivery of systemic anti cancer treatment, however full training will be provided to the right person.
