### Job summary

We are looking for an enthusiastic GP Surgery Receptionist to join our busy and friendly practice team.

The successful candidate will work Monday to Friday, 2:30pm to 6:30pm, and should be flexible and adaptable to the needs of the practice.

As a key member of our reception team, you will be the first point of contact for patients, both face-to-face and over the telephone. You will provide a welcoming, professional and compassionate service while helping to ensure that patients receive timely and appropriate care.

Previous experience working within a GP practice or general practice environment is essential, along with confidence using EMIS Web.

### Main duties of the job

- Welcoming patients and visitors in a professional and compassionate manner.
- Handling telephone calls and patient queries efficiently, ensuring appropriate signposting.
- Booking, amending, and cancelling appointments via EMIS Web.
- Processing patient registrations, repeat prescription requests, and clinical correspondence.
- Scanning and accurately registering clinical documents onto patient records.
- Assisting with monitoring and recording data for QOF (Quality and Outcomes Framework) KPIs.
- Referring patients to the relevant specialties or external services as directed.
- Supporting clinicians and the wider team with administrative tasks.
- Ensuring confidentiality and compliance with NHS policies, GDPR, and safeguarding procedures.

### Job responsibilities

Greet and assist patients and visitors in a polite, professional, and compassionate manner.
