### Job overview

We currently have a part-time vacancy and are looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated person to provide an appropriate "front of house" service to all patients who are undergoing consultation/treatment in the Orthopaedic & Fracture Clinic.

This is a busy and sometimes demanding role within a supportive and friendly team. The applicant must have excellent communication skills and will be expected to have a courteous and efficient manner in order to provide a full comprehensive reception and clerical service to support the professional staff involved in patient care.

### Main duties of the job

Receive patients and relatives at reception in a friendly and courteous manner.

Answer all telephone enquiries, taking and relaying messages in a polite and helpful manner, taking action as appropriate.

To maintain patient details / appointments efficiently on the patient administration system (Millennium). This will include the registration of patient referral letters, booking and "caching" of appointments, answering emails, answering the telephone to staff and patients; along with basic template changes to clinics.

To book / reschedule follow up outpatient appointments and ensure all patients are advised of their appointments with reasonable notice or after negotiation with the patient.

To monitor and action the department’s generic email inbox.

To book interpreters when required.

To re-book transport for patients after their clinic appointment has finished.

To liaise with nurses, doctors, GP’s and other members of the department to provide a quality service for patients.

To carry out other clerical duties as required; this will include,  photocopying, scanning and uploading of referrals,  sorting of post.

Be aware of and assist in the maintenance of Trust quality targets in connection with outpatient waiting times.

To perform other duties as directed by the outpatient manager in accordance with the needs of the department and Trust.

- Previous admin experience

### Qualifications

- Qualification at GCSE level or equivalent
