### Job overview

We are looking for an experienced and compassionate Therapeutic Radiographer to lead and develop our commissioned Radiotherapy Late Effects and Review service at Torbay and South Devon NHS Foundation Trust. This is an exciting opportunity to provide expert clinical and operational leadership, supporting patients who are experiencing the long-term effects of radiotherapy while shaping an evidence-based, safe and responsive service for the future.

Based within the Radiotherapy Department at Torbay Hospital, the post holder will work closely with Clinical Oncologists, Therapeutic Radiographers, Review Radiographers, AHP’s, primary care, community services and wider multidisciplinary colleagues to improve referral pathways, deliver specialist patient review and embed late effects care as a standard part of radiotherapy provision.

### Main duties of the job

- Lead the clinical and operational delivery of the Radiotherapy Late Effects and Review service, ensuring safe, effective and patient-centred care.
- Assess, review and support patients experiencing acute and late radiotherapy side effects, developing personalised treatment plans and escalating clinical concerns where required.
- Develop referral pathways across acute, primary and community care to improve access to specialist late effects support.
- Provide expert advice, education and training to therapeutic radiographers, multidisciplinary teams and wider health professionals.
- Lead service improvement, audit, research and quality initiatives, including collection of service metrics to support commissioned provision.
- Contribute to clinical governance, risk management, policy development and compliance with professional, Trust, IR(ME)R and ISO9001 quality standards.
- Work collaboratively with local, regional and national partners to share best practice and influence the development of late effects radiotherapy care.

## Person Specification

### Qualifications and Experience

**Essential**

- BSc in Therapeutic Radiography (or equivalent)
- HCPC Therapeutic Radiographer
- Master’s education in modules relating to Radiotherapy, including patient review
- Advanced Clinical examination skills
- Registered independent non-medical prescriber
- Extensive post qualification experience
- Significant experience of patient assessment and consultation
- Knowledge of the multidisciplinary nature of a Late Effects service
- Experience in dealing with complex side effects cases, acute and/or late
- Experience of independent working i.e. projects, confident decision maker
- Ability to work collaboratively with other services within the integrated care system across the patient pathway

**Desirable**

- Aspirations or progress made towards doctorate qualification
- Contribution to Local (and National) radiotherapy forums regarding patient care / side effects
- Development of local and National standards
- Evidence of research, quality improvement or audit projects
- Proven modernisation or service improvement skills in radiotherapy
- Evidence of presentations/posters, locally/nationally
