### Job overview

We are looking for an experienced radiopharmacy or similarly  experienced production worker to join our small team of staff in our York Hospital based Radiopharmacy unit.

Following a review of the radiopharmacy service we are looking to recruit  a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual, with an interest in this specialist area. This new role will involve working with the Nuclear Medicine Technologists to prepare a range of radiopharmaceuticals, prepare the radiopharmacy isolator ready for use, oversee and participate in validations and maintain the necessary aseptic environment.

### Main duties of the job

York Radiopharmacy is a section 10 unit producing radiopharmaceuticals used to diagnose a range of conditions. Working under the supervision of an Authorised Pharmacist, you will prepare, dispense and label radiopharmaceuticals using aseptic technique in a Grade A cleanroom environment. You will also be expected to carry out environmental monitoring, validation and cleaning of the cleanroom suite and equipment. Manage stock and starting materials, ensuring correct storage and stock rotation. Record monitoring data accurately and support the quality management system.

To be eligible for this role it is essential that you have at least 3 years experience working in an aseptic manufacturing environment such as a section 10 aseptic unit, licensed or specials manufacturing. A level 3 Science Manufacturing Technician or Pharmacy Technician qualification would be desirable.

### Qualifications

**Essential**

- - BTEC in Pharmaceutical Sciences / QCF Level 3 in Pharmacy Services or equivalent/higher science based qualification or minimum 3 years service in aseptics or similar environment.

**Desirable**

- - APDM via Leeds University / TSET
- - Level 3 Science Manufacturing Technician
- - Pre and In-Process Checking within Aseptic Services
- - Level 3 Team leading

### Skills and Attributes

**Essential**

- Proven skills in organising, supervising, and training staff
- Ability to prioritise workflow when the need arises.
- A range of Aseptic preparation skills

### Experience and Knowledge

**Essential**

- Substantial practical work experience and knowledge relating to the procedures and provision of a hospital pharmacy dispensing service.
- Knowledge and application of Standard Operating Procedures and Quality Assurance systems
- Good dispensing and distribution practices
- Knowledge of COSHH
- Knowledge and experience of managing stock control

**Desirable**

- Knowledge and experience of working with an automated dispensing robot at a super user/expert level.
- Hospital pharmacy dispensary experience.
- Knowledge and experience of error monitoring processes.
