Participate in the clinical workload, performing high-quality diagnostic imaging examinations. Lead and manage the day-to-day operational running of the Radiology Department. Ensure the delivery of safe, effective, patient-centred imaging services. Maintain compliance with IR(ME)R, IRR, MRI safety requirements, and all relevant regulatory standards. Act as Radiation Protection Supervisor (RPS) and lead on radiation and MRI safety across the site. Develop, implement and review clinical protocols, policies and departmental procedures. Manage staffing, rotas, recruitment, appraisals, performance reviews and workforce planning. Lead the training, supervision, mentoring and professional development of radiology staff and students. Promote and monitor continuous professional development (CPD), clinical supervision and peer review. Drive quality improvement initiatives, clinical governance activities and departmental audits. Monitor departmental KPIs and contribute to service development and business planning. Develop business cases and support the introduction of new services, technologies and patient pathways. Manage departmental budgets, revenue capture, stock control and resource utilisation. Work collaboratively with radiologists, clinicians and multidisciplinary teams to optimise service delivery.
