University Hospitals Sussex Trust has opportunities for radiographers to join our hardworking teams based at Worthing & Southlands Hospitals.

We are looking for a highly-motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our diverse radiographer team. You will be able to work independently and as part of a multi-disciplinary team, whose aim is to provide a polite, friendly and patient-focused service to patients attending a busy Radiology Department.

This role is eligible for visa sponsorship under the UK Visas & Immigration (UKVI) Skilled Worker route however sponsorship can only be provided where applicants meet the specific requirements set by UKVI, including the relevant skill and salary thresholds (£25000), and any role-specific criteria.

### Main duties of the job

You will be mentored through a comprehensive induction programme using  DR equipment and taught CT head initially. Induction will include rotation through all areas of the general departments, theatres and fluoroscopy. You will be expected to work cross site between Worthing and Southlands sites and there may be occasion for cross site working to Chichester. Free hospital transport runs between base sites.

Our departments are focused on providing an excellent level of service for our patients and a supportive environment for our staff. We support continual learning and development.

The Trust is committed to staff health & wellbeing offering many activities including access to staff physio and other specific programmes.

We ask that you demonstrate exceptional clinical and professional standards, consistently deliver the highest quality patient-focused care to our patients, and provide evidence of ongoing CPD.

We require all radiographers to have a positive attitude to team working and good organisational and communication skills.

Please note that all qualified applicants must hold, or be due to qualify in 2025, a BSc in Diagnostic Radiography, Diploma of the College of Radiographers or equivalent and HCPC registration.

In common with many imaging departments the demand continues to increase and therefore a commitment to providing seven day services, extended working days, weekends, standby and on call duties are requirements of the successful candidate

Communications and Relationship skills - (Factor 1)

- Promote good interdisciplinary working relationships
- Communicate complex and sensitive information
- To maintain good communications with other health care professionals and departments to ensure excellent delivery of service
- Possess good verbal English
- To proactively work as a team to achieve a common goal

Analytical and Judgemental skills - (Factor 3)

- To independently assess and justify examinations according to the IR(ME)R 2017 regulations using departmental protocols as appropriate
- To assess and evaluate the quality of images using experience and training, undertaking further projections as necessary and taking advice when appropriate

Planning and Organisational skills - (Factor 4)

- To work according to the needs of the department by taking part in all department rotas- working 24/7 i.e. days, nights, weekends, bank holidays, early and late duties
- To use clinical knowledge and understanding to organise and prioritise patient imaging
- To be able to work autonomously and as part of a team

Patient/ Client Care - (Factor 6)

- To be familiar with all aspects of patient preparation and procedures for general and more specialised examinations advising patients, staff and carers to gain informed consent before proceeding
- To ensure safe patient care and welfare whilst under the care of the Trust.

### Qualifications

**Essential**

- BSc (Hons) in Diagnostic Radiography or appropriate professional qualification recognised by the College of Radiographers or pending
- Registered with the Health Care Professionals Council (HCPC) or pending

### Skills and ED&I

**Essential**

- Evidence of having undertaken own development to improve understanding of equalities issues
- Evidence of having championed diversity in previous roles (as appropriate to role).

### Information Resources/ IT

**Essential**

- Knowledge of Medical imaging equipment and RIS/PACS systems

**Desirable**

- Knowledge of MS office applications including Outlook and Word.

### Knowledge,Training and Exp

**Essential**

- Relevant and current knowledge gained through NHS experience in a broad range of Radiographic practice
- Some on call / lone working experience dealing with trauma imaging

**Desirable**

- Experience in supervising or training other professionals.
- Understanding of Risk management in relation to imaging services
- Experience in QC
