The Clinical Quality Improvement and Accreditation Nurse/Midwife will play a key role in supporting the delivery of the Trust’s quality agenda. Working as part of the Corporate Nursing Quality Team, the postholder will contribute to the Ward & Department Accreditation Programme, support the Quality Friday programme, and assist with wider quality assurance activity, including audits, out‑of‑hours reviews and preparation for regulatory inspection (including CQC).

The postholder will work across both acute sites and all community‑based services each week, providing visible, professional support to clinical teams to embed high-quality, safe, patient‑centred care. They will support the Deputy Director of Nursing by contributing to Trust‑wide quality improvement, assurance and compliance activities, promoting a culture of continuous learning, excellence and compassionate leadership aligned to the Trust PROUD values.

This 12‑month fixed‑term post is designed as a development opportunity for a Band 6 nurse or midwife wishing to build experience in quality improvement, accreditation and regulatory readiness, alongside delivering core quality priorities for the Trust.

Please note: This role will require covering some weekend and night shifts at multiple sites.

Support ward, department and community teams to achieve and sustain accreditation standards through regular on-site engagement, evidence preparation and participation in peer reviews and action planning.

Contribute to the planning and delivery of the Trust’s Quality Friday programme, undertaking walkabouts, engaging with staff and patients, and supporting rapid improvement actions with clear feedback.

Assist with Trust-wide quality assurance activity, including audits, out-of-hours reviews and follow-up of improvement plans, supporting teams to respond to risks, incidents and emerging themes.

Support ongoing CQC readiness through evidence preparation, mock assessments and ensuring teams understand and apply regulatory standards.

Enable quality improvement by supporting teams to design, implement and evaluate initiatives, promoting QI methodologies and facilitating shared learning.

Act as a visible and supportive quality resource, coaching and mentoring staff, modelling compassionate leadership and fostering collaborative working across teams.

Support the collation, analysis and reporting of quality data, identifying trends, risks and opportunities for improvement, and preparing reports for senior nursing leadership and governance forums.

Contribute to governance, safety and risk processes, promoting learning from incidents, complaints and feedback, and championing high standards of safe, continuous improvement.

- Enable and support quality improvement initiatives aligned to Trust priorities, promoting the use of recognised methodologies (e.g. PDSA cycles) and facilitating learning events, workshops and team-based discussions to embed a culture of continuous improvement.
- Act as a visible, approachable quality and safety resource across clinical areas, coaching and mentoring staff, modelling compassionate and inclusive leadership behaviours, and building strong working relationships with multidisciplinary teams.
