We are seeking an organised and motivated Quality Governance Officer to support quality improvement, clinical effectiveness and mortality review processes across Leeds Children's Hospital. The role involves coordinating Learning from Deaths and Child Death Review activities, maintaining governance databases and dashboards, producing reports, and supporting national programmes such as NCEPOD and NICE guidance reviews.

What you will bring to the role

The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting quality governance and patient safety across Leeds Children's Hospital. They will coordinate mortality review, Learning from Deaths and Child Death Review processes, maintain governance databases and dashboards, and produce reports and analysis to support quality improvement initiatives.

Working closely with clinicians, managers and external partners, they will support national programmes such as NCEPOD and NICE guidance reviews, organise governance meetings, monitor data quality and compliance, and help ensure that learning from reviews and audits is shared effectively across services. The role requires excellent organisational, analytical and communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and contribute to the continuous improvement of patient care and governance processes.

- The role of NICE, NCEPOD, Healthcare Commission and other related agencies, and their impact on the Trust.
- College of Emergency Medicine (CEM) and other relevant professional membership bodies.
- The management and organisation of health services within the NHS, and particularly in an Acute Hospital Trust.
