### Job summary

The Quality Assurance Officer for Weight Management & Lifestyle will provide clinical leadership, governance oversight and service assurance for the weight management and healthy lifestyle elements of the One You Kent service.

The post holder will ensure the delivery of safe, effective, and high-quality lifestyle interventions, underpinned by evidence-based practice, robust clinical governance, and continuous quality improvement.

Working as part of the wider One You Kent leadership team, the post holder will play a key role in service development, assurance, and compliance with national guidance, contractual requirements, and local population health priorities.

### Main duties of the job

The post holder will provide professional leadership, clinical oversight, and subject matter expertise for weight management and lifestyle services across One You Kent, ensuring the delivery of safe, effective, and evidence-based interventions that align with national guidance, best practice, and local commissioning requirements. They will play a key role in clinical governance, supporting risk management, incident review, organisational learning, and the development, implementation, and review of clinical pathways, protocols, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). The role will lead and undertake service-wide audits and quality assurance activities to monitor safety, effectiveness, and consistency of delivery, including oversight of service observations and the development of quality improvement plans informed by audit findings, outcome data, and service user feedback. As a specialist in weight management, nutrition, physical activity, and behaviour change, they will ensure services are inclusive, trauma-informed, and responsive to the needs of diverse communities, while supporting integration across wider One You Kent services and external partners. The post holder will also lead working groups to develop, implement, and deliver training on mental health and weight management resources, supporting workforce development and the adoption of best practice across the organisation.

They will also contribute to service development, innovation, redesign initiatives, and future growth opportunities, including input into bids and expansion projects. ## Person Specification

### Experience

**Essential**

- Experience working within community health, public health, lifestyle, or prevention services.
- Experience supporting delivery of structured weight management or lifestyle interventions.
- Experience contributing to clinical or professional governance processes, including risk management, quality assurance, incident reporting, or learning review.
- Experience undertaking or contributing to audits, service reviews, or quality improvement activity

**Desirable**

- Experience working within an integrated or locally commissioned lifestyle service.
- Experience contributing to service design or redesign.
- Experience leading governance processes or supporting service-wide governance reporting.
- Experience leading audits or developing quality improvement plans in response to findings.

### Qualifications

**Essential**

- Relevant professional qualification in a health, wellbeing or behavioural science discipline (e.g. dietetics, nutrition, nursing, public health, health psychology, or equivalent).
- Evidence of ongoing CPD.

**Desirable**

- Postgraduate qualification in public health, behaviour change, nutrition, weight management, or related field.
