## Job Content

### Job overview

Join us as a Qualified Paramedic and you’ll find an exciting and forward-thinking ambulance service with a commitment to supporting clinicians in advanced and autonomous clinical care to ensure the best outcomes for patients.

We listen and work with our staff to ensure a progressive, clinically advanced service which takes account of feedback, organisational learning and provides staff with the equipment and support necessary to help them fulfil their roles.

Our commitment to supporting our staff is by our dedicated clinical career framework, which supports the career development of paramedics into specialist and/or managerial roles with many of our current staff in these roles having developed internally.

Examples of our clinical highlights include:

- Treating more patients at home without the need to attend ED
- A wide range of local guidelines to deliver care well beyond JRCALC to maximise clinical autonomy.
- 24/7 senior clinical support for decision making and in cases when you need that little extra help.
- A structured career pathway with opportunities to progress to specialist Paramedic roles in primary & critical care.

This advert is only recruiting for positions in the county of Dorset & Wiltshire for specific stations. These stations are; Ferndown, Poole, Shaftsbury (for Dorset) & Salisbury and Trowbridge (for Wiltshire). We will not be accepting applications on this advert for other counties or stations.

### Main duties of the job

Be responsible for the assessment, care, treatment and transportation of patients as an operational practitioner, working in a variety of locations such as ambulances, response vehicles, patients’ homes, primary care settings, minor injury units and accident and emergency departments.

Our diverse geography which includes some very remote rural communities has driven our ambition to equip all our staff with the training, support and skills they need to deliver a higher level of care, enabling more of our patients to be treated closer to home and resulting in the lowest conveyance rate across the Ambulance Sector.

Geographically we are the largest ambulance service in the country, covering one fifth of the country including some of its most beautiful and life enriching locations.

‘This position is exempted from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974. This means that you must declare all criminal convictions, including those that would otherwise be considered "spent" on a DBS Declaration Form available upon request.’

You must hold a full UK driving licence with a C1, with no more than six points allowed for certain offences.

Assessment dates will take place throughout August & September 2026.

Applications in Dorset will have a start date of 6th October 2026. Wiltshire applications will be varying start dates in 2026.
