### Job overview

The post holder will provide therapeutic interventions to clients aged 18 and over, presenting with a range of eating disorders and other psychological difficulties. Responsibilities include the comprehensive assessment, development, implementation, and evaluation of individualized care plans, encompassing both group and individual therapeutic interventions.

In addition, the post holder will:

- Offer expert advice and consultation on eating disorder-related issues to colleagues within the Trust and to external agencies.
- Maintain a defined caseload, ensuring high standards of clinical care.
- Contribute to the education and development of others by delivering teaching sessions within the multidisciplinary team (MDT) and to external organizations as appropriate.
- Provide clinical supervision to MDT members and trainee clinical psychologists, supporting their professional growth and ensuring best practice.

You will join a dedicated and person-centred service with a diverse MDT consisting of:

- Clinical and Counselling Psychologists
- Dietitians
- CBT Therapists
- Support Worker
- Mental health Practitioners
- Specialist doctors

There is a wealth of clinical expertise across a range of psychological approaches including CAT, CBT-E, CBT-T, CFT, GSH, EMDR, and MANTRA along with our specialised early intervention eating disorders pathway FREED

### Main duties of the job

The post holder will:

- As part of the multidisciplinary team, provide specialist psychological assessment and evidence-based interventions for clients with eating disorders, managing a defined caseload, and will coordinate care with other professionals. Management of clients will include risk assessment, monitoring physical health, maintaining clinical records, contributing to research, and supporting clients and carers.
- Teaching, supervision, and providing clinical placements for trainees.
- Provision of clinical supervision and maintain oversight of staff working in the service.
- Participate in staff development and performance systems, including support to the multidisciplinary team in delivering client-centred, evidence-based care.
- Contribute to drafting and implementing operational policies and procedures for service development, both individually and through MDT meetings.
- Follow professional guidelines, Trust policies, and MDT protocols in your work, and help identify service needs.

## Person Specification

### Knowledge

**Essential**

- Knowledge of mental ill health and its impact with experience/knowledge of working as a clinician.
- Knowledge of mental ill health and its impact with experience/knowledge of working as a clinician within the speciality of eating disorders.
- Knowledge of legislation and statutory guidance relating to mental health and eating disorders, including the NICE guidelines, the Mental Health Act and the Care Programme Approach.
- An understanding of ethical issues in relation to working with people who experience mental ill health and eating disorders.
- An understanding of the principles and practice of assessment and care management including the management of risk.
- An understanding of ethical issues in relation to working with people who experience mental ill health with particular emphasis on eating disorders.
- Knowledge of the serious physical health risks specific to eating disorders.

### Experience

**Essential**

- Significant supervised therapy experience encompassing assessment formulation, engagement, developing the therapeutic relationship, using relevant therapeutic interventions, working collaborative with clients and working to end therapy.
- Significant experience of working with service users with eating disorders using specific therapies relevant to the treatment of eating disorders.
- Experience of facilitating group therapy interventions.
- Experience of offering clinical supervision.
- Significant demonstrable experience of working independently with service users and using own initiative Showing an ability to organise, prioritise and monitor your own caseload whilst working as a qualified psychological therapist.
- Experience of effectively using information technology.
- Research experience and experience of maintaining outcomes databases.
- Evidence of continual professional development.
- Advanced information technology experience.

- - Further Qualification and training in recognised therapies in the treatment of eating disorders e.g. Cognitive Behavioural Therapy - Enhanced, Cognitive Analytic Therapy, Compassion Focussed Therapy
