### Job overview

The Project Manager will lead the operational oversight, governance, and delivery of a high-profile, sensitive Internal Review of Clinical Harm covering a cohort of approximately 210 patients within the Medicine Division. Working with a high degree of autonomy, the postholder will establish and maintain robust project infrastructure to ensure the review progresses strictly in accordance with its 12-month scope. This includes managing a complex patient database, driving multi-disciplinary clinical reviews, maintaining the risk and issues infrastructure, and managing sensitive communications across internal and external boundaries (including patients, relatives, Primary Care/GPs, and Trust legal advisors). The role requires exceptional organisational skills, data oversight, clinical governance knowledge, and executive-level report writing, ensuring full transparency and accountability to Site and Group executive boards.

### Main duties of the job

Project Management: Lead the 12-month Clinical Harm Review, managing delivery plans, milestones, KPIs, risks and issues. Coordinate governance meetings, MDT panels and working groups, including agendas, papers and action tracking. Database & Information Governance: Design and manage a secure database tracking approximately 220 patients through the review process, including enquiries and coroner referrals. Ensure data accuracy, integrity and auditability in line with NHS Information Governance, Caldicott principles and GDPR. Governance & Reporting: Implement a robust governance framework to ensure reviews are impartial, consistent and compliant with agreed methodology. Produce reports and presentations for senior clinical and executive leaders, highlighting trends, learning, harm levels and compliance. Stakeholder Engagement: Act as the central operational contact across the Trust and wider healthcare system. Work with clinical, nursing and administrative teams to ensure timely case reviews. Liaise with Legal Services on high-risk cases, claims and inquests, and coordinate GP communications. Patient & Family Communication: Manage sensitive and complex communications with patients, relatives and carers with empathy, ensuring clear information sharing and compliance with Duty of Candour.

### Applicant requirements

The postholder will have access to vulnerable people in the course of their normal duties and as such this post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (Amendment) (England and Wales) Order 2020 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service to check for any previous criminal convictions.

### Qualifications & Experience

**Essential**

- Degree level qualification or relevant experience
- Formal Programme and/or Project management training
- Experience of managing complex projects through to delivery
- Experience of working in partnership with clinical leaders

**Desirable**

- At least 3 years senior experience in health care improvement working at or above Band 6
