## Job Content

### Job overview

Help shape the future of NHS People Services

This is an opportunity to be part of one of the NHS’s most ambitious workforce transformation programmes. We are looking for three Programme Managers with experience across Digital, Service Design and People Change.

The Transforming People Services (TPS) programme is reimagining how People Services are delivered across the NHS, moving from fragmented and heavily manual processes towards simpler, more connected, digitally enabled and user-centred services. Our ambition is to improve the experience of NHS staff and managers, increase productivity and enable the People profession to focus more of its time on the things that matter most to organisations and their people.

For London, this means translating national ambition into transformation that works across a large and complex health system. The London Programme Delivery team provides the leadership, coordination and delivery capability to make that happen, working across Digital, Service Design and People & Change

### Main duties of the job

The opportunity

As a Programme Manager, you will sit at the heart of TPS delivery in London, taking responsibility for turning ambitious transformation plans into tangible outcomes.

You will lead and coordinate a key programme workstream, bringing together senior leaders, subject matter experts, NHS organisations, programme teams and delivery partners. You will create the structure and momentum needed to move from design to delivery, ensuring plans are robust, dependencies are understood, risks are actively managed and progress remains focused on measurable outcomes and benefits.

This is not simply a programme reporting role. We are looking for someone who can get underneath complex issues, bring people together, challenge constructively and make things happen.

### Detailed job description and main responsibilities

You will:

- lead the planning and delivery of a major TPS workstream, keeping objectives, milestones, benefits and dependencies on track;
- provide strong programme leadership across governance, risk, issues, assurance, performance and reporting;
- build trusted relationships with senior stakeholders and delivery partners across organisational boundaries;
- lead mobilisation and integrated delivery planning, aligning resources and activity around agreed priorities;
- identify and resolve barriers to delivery, maintaining pace and confidence in a complex environment;
- use data, insight and performance information to support decisions and track benefits; and
- support a culture of accountability, collaboration and continuous improvement across programme and delivery teams.

## Person Specification

### Skills

**Essential**

- Strong analytical, organisational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage complexity, prioritise effectively and maintain delivery momentum.
- Strong analytical skills, with experience using data, insight and performance information to inform decision-making and drive programme delivery.

### Knowledge

**Essential**

- Proven experience delivering complex programmes or transformation initiatives within NHS, healthcare or public sector organisations.
- Strong expertise in programme planning, governance, risk and dependency management, with a track record of delivering successful outcomes.

### Experience

**Essential**

- Experience leading multidisciplinary teams and coordinating activity across multiple workstreams, stakeholders and delivery partners.
- Demonstrable experience delivering change at scale at pace, translating strategic objectives into practical delivery plans and measurable benefits.
