Are you a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology (or equivalent) and be registered with the HCPC, seeking a new challenge?

We are recruiting a part time (30 hours a week) Principal Clinical Psychologist within the Wiltshire Community Eating Disorder team (WCEDS).

This is an opportunity to provide clinical leadership, specialist interventions, and service development within a dynamic and supportive NHS Specialist Eating Disorders service.

WCEDS are a multidisciplinary team, which includes Nurses, Dieticians, Family Therapists, Occupational Therapists, Psychiatrists, Psychologists, Support Workers and Administrators.

We work with adults and with young people approaching their 18th birthday and likely to require treatment into adulthood.

We offer a range of specialist psychological interventions including CBT-E, CBT-T, SSCM and MANTRA which are delivered on an individual level. We also have a full specialist group programme, developed from evidence-based interventions.

They will bring significant post-qualification experience of working with complex clinical presentations, within eating disorders. A strong foundation in psychological assessment, formulation, and intervention, alongside clinical supervision and teaching/ training is essential. The role also requires the ability to offer consultation and work effectively as part of an MDT, as well as a clear commitment to service development, quality improvement, and delivering patient-centred care.

As a Principal Psychologist, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality, evidence-based psychological care, while supporting the development of both staff and services. You will combine advanced clinical expertise with leadership, supervision, and consultation responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities

- Provide specialist psychological assessments, integrating complex data to inform formulations and care plans.
- Deliver and oversee evidence-based psychological interventions for individuals, families, carers, and groups.
- Offer expert consultation, advice, and guidance to multidisciplinary colleagues on psychological formulation, intervention, and risk.
- Undertake and support risk assessment and management, promoting safe practice across the service.
- Provide clinical supervision to trainee and qualified psychologists and other psychological therapy staff.
- Contribute to training, teaching, and workforce development, including supporting clinical placements and CPD.
- Work collaboratively with senior clinicians on service development, clinical governance, and care pathway design.

## Person Specification

### Experience

**Essential**

- Experience of working as a qualified clinical/counselling Psychologist at a highly specialist level within an eating disorder service.
- Post qualification experience of working with people with complexity/co-morbidities
- Experience of supervision of trainee clinical/counselling psychologists.
- Experience of teaching, ,training and/or professional and clinical supervision.

**Desirable**

- Experience of supervision of qualified clinical/counselling psychologists
- Experience of setting up and running groups

### Qualifications

**Essential**

- Post Doctoral training in Clinical or Counselling Psychology
- Current HCPC registration
- Evidence of CPD as recommended by BPS

**Desirable**

- Training and qualifications in research

### Further Training

**Essential**

- Post-doctoral training in one or more additional specialised areas of psychological practice.
- Ability to communicate effectively in written and spoken form.
- Skills in providing consultation
- Ability to identify and employ clinical governance
