Priory Hospital Woodbourne

Part-Time | 30 hours per week | Site based

Salary is £58,266 per annum FTE

HCPC registration is required

Priory Hospital Woodbourne has an opportunity for a Principal Psychologist to join our team. This is a part-time role working 30 hours per week, and the pro-rata salary is £46,600 per annum

### Main duties of the job

Our diverse and specialised range of services offers the opportunity to develop your skills and gain experience working with a wide spectrum of mental health conditions across five distinct service lines within the hospital. You will play a key part in patient recovery, supporting the assessment and delivery of tailored treatment plans while ensuring dignity, respect, and high standards of care.

You will also:

- Lead psychological care for designated wards/patients, including assessment, intervention, and evaluation.
- Work autonomously within professional and service guidelines.
- Supervise and support psychology staff, trainees, and students.
- Provide consultation, reflective practice, and staff training.
- Contribute to multidisciplinary reviews, risk assessments, and patient care planning.
- Maintain accurate clinical records and manage administrative responsibilities.
- Support service development, audits, research, and evidence-based practice.
- Oversee referrals, waiting lists, KPIs, and governance of psychological practice.
- Build effective relationships with patients, carers, staff, and external agencies.
- Maintain CPD, supervision, and compliance with Health & Safety and Mental Health Act requirements.
