The post-holder will work in the Hull and East Riding Team based at the Humber Centre, with travel in the region to see service users. We are looking for a motivated and compassionate practitioner with an interest in working with adults presenting with offending/risk behaviours. The post is extended to an 18 month period to provide a risk managed handover period. The post is suited to an experienced, knowledgeable and autonomous individual. The Community Forensic Teams provide a consultation, assessment ad intervention service to inpatient and community providers, you will promote and provide a psychologically informed approach to risk formulation and risk management. You will clinically lead the mental illness and personality disorder pathway, working closely with a comprehensive MDT. You will benefit from being part of our friendly psychology team consisting of Clinical and Forensic Psychologists. We maintain strong cohesion as a department and there will be opportunities for support from the other Psychologists working within the Department. We are looking for a Psychologist with experience of managing forensic risk, and a strong track record of clinical leadership. You will provide and receive regular clinical supervision. The Department has well-established links with the University of Hull. For secondment opportunities, internal applicants must obtain approval from their substantive line manager prior to applying and evidence of this approval must be provided as part of the application process. ### Main duties of the job The Principal Psychologist is accountable for providing high standard clinical services within the Community Forensic Team. Key responsibilities include: - High-Quality Psychology Service: Ensuring the provision of a high-quality psychology service to Community Forensic Services. This involves strong, effective leadership, engagement with service users, carers and partners, and a trauma-informed approach to specialist forensic consultation, assessment and intervention within the community. - Coordination and Direction: Co-coordinate the planning and organisation of specialist psychological services within the locality area, in agreement with the Clinical Lead/Operational Manager. Provide clinical supervision, offer advice, and consult on service users' psychological care and risk management to colleagues. - Collaboration and Expertise: Work alongside other teams and agencies, providing expert guidance for people accessing the teams services. Demonstrate advanced psychological skills, deliver high-quality care, and contribute to reviewing, developing and monitoring operational/clinical policy. - Research and Development: Utilise research skills for audit, policy and service development within the relative service area. ### Detailed job description and main responsibilities For further information with regard to this vacancy please see the attached Job Description and Person Specification.
