### Job overview

We are recruiting for a Principal MRI Radiographer who shares our vision to be trusted to provide consistently outstanding care and exemplary service to our patients.

If you are successful in this role you will lead research, audit, development, and training initiatives in MRI. You will  provide expert clinical care to ensure a patient-centred approach. You will challenge best practices, incorporate new techniques, and collaborate with the MR Lead Clinician and specialist radiologists to achieve optimal image quality.

Demonstrates excellent presentation skills, sharing  your expertise through  lectures and presentation of their research findings to a wide range of audiences. You will take responsibility for educating and training staff, acting as a key resource for the advancement of MRI practices within the organisation.

As a qualified MRI Safety Office, you will ensures adherence to safety protocols. The role includes existing responsibilities as Deputy Superintendent and specialist diagnostic practitioner.

In addition, you will receive a High-Cost Area Supplement of 15% of your basic salary, subject to a minimum payment of £4,870 and a maximum payment of £6,137 per annum pro rata

Delivers expert care for patients undergoing MRI scans, maintaining high clinical standards and prioritising patients to ensure optimal efficiency and service quality.

Provides leadership, training, and serves as an expert resource for the radiographers at the Mount Vernon Cancer Centre in the ongoing implementation and development of MRI for radiotherapy.

Leads the education and training of other healthcare professionals in current and new MRI practice and MRI safety.Research and Service Development

Permanently assigned to the MRI department, responsible for developing and running complex and specialised research and clinical scanning protocols, as well as developing and implementing appropriate post-processing procedures.

Evaluates clinical effectiveness in the context of Clinical Governance, Risk Management, and Quality Assurance initiatives within the MRI department.

Ensures adherence to Trust policies, MHRA guidance, GDPR, Local Radiation Rules, statutory requirements of IR(ME)R, IRR99, and other relevant Health and Safety Policies.

### Qualifications

**Essential**

- BSc (Hons) Diagnostic Radiography or equivalent
- HCPC Registration
- Postgraduate qualification in MRI or relevant specialist area
- Evidence of Level 7 practice
- Evidence of ongoing professional development aligned to advanced practice
- Evidence of progression towards Consultant Radiographer level practice
- Leadership/management qualification
- MRI Safety Officer (MRSO) qualification
