We are a busy unit situated in the centre of London next to London Bridge train station and The Shard and a short walk from the River Thames and Borough Market. ### Main duties of the job We are looking for applicants that can provide a wide range of highly-specialist maxillofacial prosthetic devices and 3D planning for a diverse range of patients and must be competent in all areas of maxillofacial prosthetics. The successful applicant must be able manage their own caseload and work autonomously to provide a high level of service to our patients and service users. They will participate in patient clinics, design and manufacture highly complex specialised maxillofacial prosthetics devices and attend multi-disciplinary team meetings when required. Under the guidance of the Consultant Maxillofacial Prosthetist they will facilitate teaching and be responsible for providing training to STP students within the department. We are looking for an enthusiastic individual that enjoys working as part of a team, has excellent communication skills and can successfully manage a changing workload. ### Detailed job description and main responsibilities We are looking forward to welcoming a new member to the team and the successful applicant will work closely with all members of the maxillofacial prosthetics/reconstructive scientist and orthodontic technical team as well as surgeons, consultants, clinicians, nurses and administrative staff within Dental and the wider Trust. Applicants will work in direct contact with patients providing a range of highly complex custom-made prostheses including ocular prostheses, facial and body prostheses, keloid pressure splints and nasal obturators. The role also includes undertaking complex orthognathic surgical planning, 3D surgical planning, attending MDT's and assisting with development of the service as required. The interview will comprise of a practical assessment in the morning followed by a formal interview and presentation in the afternoon. ### Applicant requirements You must have appropriate UK professional registration.
