We are seeking an experienced, compassionate and highly skilled Principal Clinical Psychologist to join Stockport’s innovative Wellbeing Hub. The Hub brings together two specialist services: the Emotional Health and Wellbeing Team, which supports children aged 0–18 who are at child protection level or cared for by Stockport Family, and the Staying Close Wellbeing Service, which promotes the emotional wellbeing and mental health of care‑experienced young people aged 16–25 who have lived in residential care. Together, these services provide a psychologically informed, relationally attuned offer for some of Stockport’s most vulnerable children and young people.

### Main duties of the job

The Principal Clinical Psychologist will provide clinical leadership across the Wellbeing Hub. The postholder will offer supervision to the Therapeutic Social Workers and Clinical Psychologist within the team, and will lead on embedding trauma‑informed and trauma-responsive practice across the service. They will provide consultations, formulations and reflective practice to support colleagues in understanding and responding to the emotional needs of care experienced young people, helping to strengthen the psychological thinking that underpins care planning and multi‑agency decision making.

You will join a supportive peer group of four other Principal Clinical Psychologists specialising in working for cared for children, and be part of a growing community of practice in the Trust. Clinical and leadership supervision will be provided by the Trust Wide Strategic Lead for Cared For Children, and you will be supported to develop your clinical practice including access to DDP supervision as appropriate.

- HCPC registered Clinical or Counselling Psychologist

### Experience, skills and knowledge

- Clinical experience with cared for children or care leavers
- Supervision skills and experience
- Leadership experience, skills and knowledge
