Distant Island Allowance of £2,578 per annum

Are you a compassionate and dynamic nurse leader looking to make a real difference in a remote and rural community? NHS Shetland is seeking an experienced Primary Care/Community Nursing Lead to provide strategic, clinical and operational leadership across Primary Care and Community Nursing services.

Working closely with the Chief Nurse (Community & Mental Health), you will lead service improvement, workforce development, quality and professional governance, helping to deliver safe, effective and person-centred care for the people of Shetland. We are looking for a highly motivated individual with strong leadership, communication and relationship-building skills, alongside experience in service redesign, change management and strategic planning. The successful candidate will bring advanced clinical assessment and decision-making skills, independent prescribing expertise, and the ability to provide professional leadership while maintaining a strong clinical focus. This is an excellent opportunity to influence the future direction of Primary Care and Community Nursing services while supporting high-quality care closer to home for Shetland's communities.
