### Job summary

Oak Street Medical Practice is seeking a motivated and organised prescription officer to join our friendly and supportive team, on a full-time basis.

This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in supporting the safe and effective management of prescriptions for our patients. Working closely with GPs, nurses, pharmacy team and administrative colleagues, you will help ensure prescription requests are processed accurately, efficiently and in line with practice policies.

### Main duties of the job

- Processing repeat and acute prescription requests.
- Managing prescription enquiries from patients, carers and pharmacies.
- Supporting medication reviews and medicines optimisation initiatives.
- Processing medication changes received from hospitals and community services.
- Updating patient records and maintaining accurate documentation.
- Assisting with prescription audits and quality improvement activities.
- Supporting safe prescribing processes and patient safety initiatives.
- Working collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary primary care team.

This role would suit someone with previous pharmacy, healthcare, NHS or administrative experience who is passionate about delivering excellent patient service and contributing to high-quality patient care.

**Essential**

- The successful candidate will be organised, reliable and patient-focused, with excellent communication and IT skills.
