### Job summary

We are looking to recruit an experienced and highly motivated Practice Nurse to join our friendly nursing team, an interest in diabetes would be desirable but not essential. This is a part time role working 20 hours per week on Mondays & Tuesdays providing high quality patient centred care within a supportive general practice environment .

### Main duties of the job

The successful applicant will be involved with a range of treatment room duties including management of long term conditions, they will provide assessment, treatment, screening, health education services and advice to patients on general health with support and guidance from our experienced team of GP's, clinical practitioners and our experienced nursing team. They will support the Infection Prevention Control lead and to work to the IPC policy supporting the implementation of audits, training, support and evidence of compliance.

### Job responsibilities

An opportunity has arisen at Wycliffe Surgery for a practice nurse with ideally diabetes and/or respiratory experience to join our friendly team of nurses. The successful candidate will work closely with the partners and staff to deliver excellent care for patients.

## Person Specification

### Experience

**Essential**

- Experience working in primary care or general practice.
- Proven experience in diabetes management and long term condition care.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

**Desirable**

- Knowledge of SystmOne.
- Experience in Infection Prevention and Control.

### Qualifications

**Essential**

- Registered nurse with current NMC registration.
