### Job summary

Tamworth House Medical Centre is a general practice in East Merton providing NHS primary care services to about 10,000 patients. As a practice we believe in delivering the highest standards for our patients and place a particular emphasis on disease prevention, patient education, personalized and proactive care. We believe in the core principles of nursing practice and the application of evidence but are equally innovative; welcome novel approaches; and would support the successful candidate in developing the nursing team in addition to providing support for their own personal training and development. ### Main duties of the job

This is an opportunity for a Practice Nurse to become established within a friendly, passionate and dedicated practice! You will have the chance to work as an 'all-rounder' and spend your time working on various aspects of Practice Nursing. We are currently looking to recruit an enthusiastic, dynamic nurse to join our nursing team to ensure patients continue to receive high quality nursing care. We are passionate about staff health and wellbeing and working together as a team.

### Job responsibilities

- Assist in and perform routine tasks related to patient care as directed by GPs

- Cytology
- Wound care / ulcer care/Doppler and Removal of Sutures/Venepuncture
- New Patient Medicals/Urinalysis
- ECGs/Asthma/Peak Flow Readings/Spirometry
- Routine immunizations/Childhood immunisations
- Assisting GPs with minor surgery and coil fittings
- Requesting pathology tests
- Hypertension Management, Diabetes or Coronary Heart Disease and Contraception.

- Maintaining and cleaning equipment used by the nurses and GPs
- Maintaining GP and Nurses rooms, stocking and rotating items as required
- Maintain general tidiness and cleanliness of nurses and treatment rooms
- Maintain stock of waiting room leaflets and Health Promotion Literature
- Ordering of vaccinations to maintain stock levels
