To work as part of the Practice Development Team and deliver robust and comprehensive, evidence-based programmes of training, assessment of clinical skills and clinical competencies of all Students, practice assessors and Supervisors.

To ensure that the principles that guide staff development reflect the trust commitment to quality, safety and patient experience, and that these are embedded into all clinical practice.

To ensure that high quality clinical placements are maintained for the full range of non-medical students undertaking education and training throughout the Trust To promote partnership working across all key stakeholders involved in the development and training of non-medical staff.

### Main duties of the job

The Practice Learning Facilitator (PLF) provides leadership, education, quality assurance and clinical support to promote high-quality learning environments and patient care across the Trust. The role coordinates student placements with Higher Education Institutions and placement providers, ensuring sufficient capacity and positive learning experiences across a range of programmes.

A key responsibility is supporting the development and continuous improvement of practice learning environments. This includes creating innovative placement opportunities, contributing to educational audits, supporting quality monitoring processes and implementing action plans to address identified concerns. Collaborative working with universities, clinical teams and external stakeholders promotes best practice and strengthens educational partnerships.

The PLF contributes to workforce development strategies, policy development and quality improvement initiatives. Effective relationships are maintained across health and social care organisations to share best practice and enhance learning opportunities. The role supports managers in addressing performance concerns and managing complex situations through effective communication.

Through educational delivery, placement quality assurance and support for practice supervisors and assessors, the PLF helps develop a skilled, compassionate workforce capable of delivering safe, effective and high-quality patient care.

### Education / Qualifications

**Essential**

- Current professional registration (NMC)
- Evidence of CPD
- Evidence of successful study at level 6
- Teaching and assessing qualification i.e., mentorship or equivalent

**Desirable**

- Leadership qualification
- Evidence of clinical teaching
- Evidence of clinical skills competence

### Knowledge, Training & Experience

**Essential**

- A minimum of 3 years’ experience of working in the clinical setting
- A minimum of two years Mentorship experience
- Experience of developing and educating staff
- Ability to work with minimal supervision
- Competent practitioner in relevant clinical practice

**Desirable**

- Experience of practice development and change management
- Good awareness of current initiatives and government agendas which impact on healthcare and education
- Experience of delivering simulation training.
