An opportunity has arisen for an experienced and highly motivated senior ODP or Anaesthetic Nurse, with a commitment to promoting excellence in education, to join the Theatre Education Group.  The Theatre Education Group provides a wide array of training opportunities designed to support staff in developing and maintaining their skills. This role presents an outstanding opportunity to develop your leadership skills and engage in ongoing professional development.

This role offers a remarkable opportunity to expand your knowledge and experience in training and education while supporting your colleagues, students and apprentices in their professional development. The team operates flexibly throughout the week to accommodate the training programmes and the needs of the service.

### Main duties of the job

As a practice educator you will be expected to: To act as a role model and demonstrate expertise in delivering evidence-based practice.  Using your clinical expertise, you will drive the service to provide high standards of care and be an ambassador for practice development.  Facilitate the creation of a positive learning environment in the workplace where staff development at all levels is encouraged and supported  Facilitate the education and continuing professional development for all levels of registered and non-registered AHP /nursing staff within the Theatre's and Anaesthetics Teams  Work alongside staff, apprentices and students in individual teams undertaking a key role in practice development  Translate Academy priorities such as changes in ODPs or nursing standards, new clinical roles such as Apprenticeships into their designated service

## Person Specification

### Skills

**Essential**

- Excellent interpersonal skills, Excellent written and verbal communication skills Knowledge and understanding of research process, audit cycle and quality assurance issues Excellent clinical skills IT skills – excel, PowerPoint

**Desirable**

- Developed research ability

### Experience

**Essential**

- Minimum 4 years relevant clinical experience, 2years at senior ODP/ nurse level at Band 6

**Desirable**

- Knowledge and understanding of relevant specialist curricula, including l mentorship programme

### Management

**Essential**

- Well-developed leadership skills and ward/unit/department management experience

**Desirable**

- Resource management, Ability to mediate in difficult situations

### Qualifications and Training

**Essential**

- RN/RCN/RSCN/ODP/RM, Mentorship qualification or qualification equivalent

**Desirable**

- Working towards Masters, Simulation trainer, teaching qualification
