This is an excellent opportunity for doctors wanting to join our enthusiastic and dynamic team and to gain further experience at senior level in Emergency Medicine and gain associated skills and competencies in a busy Emergency Department and Major Trauma Centre.

We are looking for experienced emergency clinicians who are either post CCT or within 4 months of CCT date. Applicants must have full FRCEM.

Emergency Medicine training completed (or portfolio pathway) in the NHS is essential.

Posts will include up to 20% non-clinical time.

Successful applicants will be appointed an experienced educational supervisor and goals will be set to enhance their CV and aid the transition to becoming a consultant.

This is an exciting and innovative opportunity to not only improve your clinical skills in this world-renowned Major Trauma Centre but also provides time to develop your special interest and enhance your CV ready for consultant jobs.

St George’s is one of the only hospitals in the country with 24-hour ED consultant presence on the shop floor. All doctors are extremely well supported with lots of opportunities for teaching and practical experience.

### Main duties of the job

Clinical Fellows are required to perform clinical work in the ED, as the first doctor to see patients with the range of problems that present to a busy ED.

We value all our resident doctors based on their individual competencies. Responsibility is given based on level of experience so that the senior clinical fellows would also have the opportunity to run the department, lead resus and paeds shifts and support more junior colleagues.

Depending on the candidate’s interests, non-clinical roles could potentially include SIM or ultrasound, trauma governance or research. There are also opportunities for involvement in rota management, recruitment and education amongst others.

- Clinical Fellows (senior and junior) are required to perform clinical work in the ED, with the range of problems that present to a busy department. Clinical Fellows also contribute to the care of patients EECU or equivalent (Extended Emergency Care unit) when open.
- The successful applicants will be expected to contribute to the smooth running of the department such as managing resus and paeds and being able to support juniors.
- Applicants will be expected to participate in audit and QIP and governance and encouraged to get involved in research depending on the interests of the successful applicant(s).
- There are specific tasks for the non-clinical roles. These can be discussed in more detail with successful candidate(s).
