An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Facilities Department at the James Paget University Hospital as a Portering Officer.

### Main duties of the job

To be a member of the Portering and Security Team providing a customer focused service to patients, staff and visitors to the James Paget University Hospital. Experience of similar roles is desirable but not essential. Those who are willing to go above and beyond in contributing towards a safe and secure environment and assisting in the treatment of patients should feel at home in this role.

### Detailed job description and main responsibilities

To assist in the provision of an efficient and effective Portering Service to all Wards and Departments in accordance with established procedures.

### Knowledge & Experience

- Experience of working with the general public

- Experience of dealing with violent, aggressive or agitated behaviour

### Education & Qualifications

- Good Literacy Skills

**Desirable**

- Medical Gas Safety Training
- Manual Handling Training
