We are looking for skilled and compassionate Health Care Professionals (HCPs) to join our South Yorkshire police custody service, providing vital care to vulnerable individuals in a face paced and dynamic environment.

We provide Healthcare in the following custody suites in Barnsley S70 2DL, Doncaster DN1 3HX Shepcote S9 1TP therefore no two days will be the same this is a unique opportunity to support a range of custody services within South Yorkshire.

To join our team, you will need:

- A Professional Qualification (RN, RMN)/Paramedic with 3 years post qualifying experience.
- Current registration with the NMC/HCPC.
- Experience in areas such as A&E, primary care, mental health, substance misuse.
- Strong clinical assessment skills and the ability to make decision under pressure.
- Excellent communication skills, with a compassionate and non- judgmental approach.

### Main duties of the job

As an HCP in police custody, you will provide high quality care to detainees, ensuring their health, safety and wellbeing while in custody. Working closely with police staff and other professionals, you will play a vital role in delivering clinical assessments and managing health risks.

Main duties will include:

- Conducting physical and mental health assessments for detainees.
- Administering medications and managing ongoing heath conditions.
- Delivering first aid and emergency care as needed.
- Supporting individuals experiencing mental crises/substance misuse withdrawal.
- Maintaining accurate clinical records and adhering to confidentiality in line with policy and procedure.
- Liaising with multidisciplinary teams, including police staff and external heath services.
