While the primary focus of this role is the Morse Patient Management System, the postholder will be expected to develop and maintain expertise across the wider PMS application portfolio and provide full technical cross cover for the existing PMS Application Specialist. The successful candidate will be capable of acquiring and maintaining knowledge across multiple complex clinical systems, troubleshooting complex technical issues and supporting a diverse range of business-critical applications to ensure resilience and continuity

Key Responsibilities

- Lead the operational support, maintenance and continuous improvement of the Morse Patient Management System, including the configuration, development and management of Morse forms.
- Act as the primary subject matter expert for Morse, ensuring optimal performance, data quality, user experience and compliance with organisational requirements.
- Work closely with the existing PMS Application Specialist to provide cross-cover and shared support across the wider PMS application portfolio.
- Support system upgrades, testing, implementation of new functionality and change management activities across Morse and related PMS applications.
- Provide advanced technical support and troubleshooting for patient management systems and associated secondary and primary care applications, working closely with clinical and IT teams.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to identify opportunities for system enhancements and deliver innovative digital solutions.
- Support integration projects and data quality initiatives across the patient management ecosystem.
- Develop user guidance, deliver training and provide expert advice to end users and colleagues.

About You

- Proven experience in healthcare IT, ideally supporting patient management or clinical information systems.
- Strong understanding of clinical workflows, electronic patient records, data quality and information governance.
- Experience configuring, supporting or developing business-critical applications, ideally including patient management systems.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to investigate and resolve complex technical issues.
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users.
- Experience with system integration, database technologies, Microsoft SQL Server, data repositories and clinical systems would be highly desirable.

Based within the IM&T Applications and Development Team, the postholder will also contribute to a wide range of projects and digital transformation initiatives, helping to deliver new functionality, service improvements and system enhancements across the organisation.

The role is varied and fast-paced, requiring the ability to multitask, learn complex processes, pay close attention to detail and maintain a positive, proactive approach. These are key attributes we will be looking for in both your application and at interview.
