An exciting opportunity has arisen for a qualified health Play Specialist to support children and young people receiving health-based support.

We are looking for someone who is highly motivated, proactive and with extensive post qualifying experience to join the children’s community nursing team (CCN).

The post holder will work with children and young people who are under the care of the CCN Team within Wye Valley Trust on a referral basis for time bound support.  You will need to triage these referrals and prioritise your workload.

You will work alongside other professionals to assess, plan, schedule and deliver specialist play interventions to children & Young people with acute, chronic, life limiting or life-threatening conditions, primarily in their own homes and will organise events & groups where appropriate.

Prepare children & young people for invasive and non-invasive procedures, distraction therapy and post procedural play.

Build therapeutic relationships and family centred care with the service user.

Working with the larger MDTeam to provide seamless care between agencies and family within different settings.
