You will also have the opportunity to work across our satellite clinics in North Medical Centre and  Brampton Hospital. This post involves working closely with experienced clinicians, including advanced practitioners. You will be working in a busy department which receives referrals from general practice (including First Contact Practitioners), consultants, midwives as well as patients themselves. Depending on experience the post provides an opportunity to be responsible for undergraduate clinical education at the University of Cumbria clinic, as we regularly welcome students from the university of Cumbria for both non-elective and elective placements. You will also be expected to provide support and clinical supervision for less experienced clinicians and a physiotherapy technician. The department runs several successful rehabilitation classes and water based classes, which is available to use with individual patients too. This role provides great scope for professional growth within a supportive team. You will partake in monthly In Service Training sessions which include all MSK clinicians within NCIC, often involving external speakers. ### Main duties of the job To assess, determine clinical diagnosis, and to develop and implement specialist treatment plans for patients with increasing clinical complexity within hospital and community settings. To perform comprehensive physiotherapeutic assessment of patients with diverse presentations, complex physical and psychological conditions and multi‐pathologies using clinical reasoning skills and manual assessment techniques to provide an accurate diagnosis of their condition. This may include interpretation and analysis of clinical and non – clinical information and investigations. Assess patient understanding of treatment proposals, gain valid informed consent and have the capacity to work within a legal framework with all patients. To communicate effectively with patients, families, carers and other professionals to ensure an integrated approach to care. To provide education, support and training to physiotherapy colleagues, students and other healthcare professionals. To undertake audit and participate in research activities as appropriate. To work independently knowing own limitations and seeking guidance accordingly.
