We require an experienced phlebotomist with excellent written and verbal communication skills to work alongside our phlebotomy service in Central London.

The successful candidate will join a well-established phlebotomy service. This is a high performing and popular service that aims to deliver an excellent patient experience with world class care.

There 2 full-time posts and 1 16hrs and 22.5 Part time post available

### Main duties of the job

The successful applicant will need to be competent in carrying out phlebotomy on adults, children, and elderly patients, and will be required to work under minimal supervision. The post holder will need to be well organised, efficient and familiar with all routine blood tests and their clinical importance.

### Experience

**Essential**

- Able to work in a busy environment
- Able to communicate in English
- Able to work under pressure

### Communication

**Essential**

- Able to communicate accurately & effectively verbally, and in writing
- The ability to pass on messages with clarity to a wide range of people
- To have a polite and efficient telephone manner

### Skills and Abilities

**Essential**

- Ability to communicate with patients, nursing and medical staff
- Understanding the importance of continued development through PDP’s
- Experience of identifying quality issues and service improvement
- Ability to understand information processing (IT skills). ERP system.

### Specific Requirements

**Essential**

- Work pattern (e.g. shift work, unsociable hours).
- Ability to participate in Saturday and Sunday provision of service.
- Ability to meet physical effort (e.g. lifting and handling requirements)
- Physical skills (e.g. requirement for speed and accuracy, hand-eye co-ordination

### Knowledge and Qualifications

**Essential**

- At least 18 months Phlebotomy experience post certificate
- Certificate of proof

- Able to talk to patients in a professional manner
- To work as part of a team or ability to cope alone
