### Job overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen within our Phlebotomy team based at Freeman Hospital for a post of 30 hours/week working 0700-1300 on a rotational basis.

As a Phlebotomist you are an integral part of the NHS, working closely with doctors, nurses, healthcare science staff to name a few. You will be required to take blood samples from inpatients on wards, ensuring they are correctly labelled and delivered promptly to the laboratories for analysis. These samples need to be stored and transported appropriately during this process. This position requires an individual with a sympathetic approach whilst dealing with patients who could be nervous or require specialist care. Follow aspect techniques and guidelines at all times.

We are looking for a caring and professional individual who has the ability to work alone as well as part of a team. We welcome any interested applicants to an informal visit.

### Detailed job description and main responsibilities

- By working with colleagues, provide a hospital wide phlebotomy service in allocated clinical areas.
- To perform venepuncture blood collection as requested by medical/nursing staff.
- To ensure blood samples are labelled correctly in line with Trust recommendations.

### Applicant requirements
