The role supports the clinical team by ensuring high-quality sample collection, accurate patient identification, and safe handling of specimens in accordance with clinical and infection control procedures. Key Responsibilities Perform venepuncture on adult and, where trained, paediatric patients. Ensure correct patient identification prior to specimen collection. Collect, label, and prepare blood samples in line with practice protocols. Monitor patients for adverse reactions. Maintain accurate clinical records. Provide a professional and reassuring service to patients. Ensure safe handling, storage, and transport of samples. Adhere to infection control and health and safety policies.
