### Job overview

Part time Phlebotomy post 20 - 25 hours in a team of 7 staff covering the in-patient medical wards Mon - Sun including most bank holidays.

### Main duties of the job

Providing venepuncture to the in patients within the medical wards within the DMEC division.

Adhering to Trust values and behaviours.

Maintaining Trust IPC policy.

### Detailed job description and main responsibilities

Providing a safe Phlebotomy service to all the in patient medical wards within DMEC covering a 7 day service.

Adhering to the Trust Infection Control Policy.

Following and maintaining the Trust expected values and behaviours.

### Applicant requirements

This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (Amendment) (England and Wales) Order 2020 and it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service.

### SKILLS

**Essential**

- Have good manual dexterity and coordination.
- Have good oral and written communication skills.
- An ability to work accurately and maintain high standards of documentation.

**Desirable**

- Skills test will include: Labelling Bottle
- Development in post throughout training.
- Development in post once full knowledge and practical skills gained.
