### Job summary

The Vale Medical Practice is seeking an enthusiastic and motivated pharmacy technician to join our expanding multidisciplinary team. This role is offered on a full-time basis of 37.5 hours per week, and will be based at both our Wootton and Shortstown sites.

Reporting to the senior clinical pharmacist and senior clinical pharmacy technician, you will play a key role in supporting medicines optimisation, medication safety, repeat prescribing systems and patient care within the practice multidisciplinary team.

Working closely with GPs, clinical pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, nurses, GP assistants and administrative colleagues, you will help ensure the safe, effective and cost-efficient use of medicines across our patient population.

This is an in-person role as you will sit with our pharmacy team, as we believe the 'learning is in the room'.

## Person Specification

### Experience

**Essential**

- Minimum 2 years post-qualification experience as a Pharmacy Technician
- Experience within General Practice or Primary Care Networks
- Experience of medicines management and medicines optimisation
- Medicines reconciliation experience
- Experience of repeat prescribing processes
- Experience working within multidisciplinary healthcare teams
- Experience handling medication-related queries

**Desirable**

- Experience supporting QOF, IIF or medicines optimisation programmes
- Experience undertaking prescribing audits and quality improvement projects
- Experience working independently within a primary care medicines optimisation role

### Key skills:

**Essential**

- Experience using SystmOne
- Strong understanding of medicines optimisation principles
- Knowledge of medication safety and prescribing governance
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong organisational and prioritisation skills
- Good IT skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively

### Qualifications

**Essential**

- Registered Pharmacy Technician with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC)
- BTEC/NVQ Level 3 in Pharmaceutical Science or recognised equivalent
- Completion of the CPPE Primary Care Pharmacy Education Pathway
- Evidence of ongoing CPD
