Are you a qualified Pharmacy Technician or Science Manufacturing Technician with experience in aseptic services? We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Advanced Manufacturing Technician to join our Pharmacy Technical Services team.

This is an exciting opportunity to work in a specialist aseptic manufacturing unit, preparing life-changing medicines that directly support patient care across a range of clinical specialties. You will play a key role in the production of sterile pharmaceutical products while helping to maintain the highest standards of quality, safety and Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP).

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.

### Main duties of the job

As an Advanced Manufacturing Technician, you will be responsible for the preparation and supervision of the manufacture of a wide range of medicines, including:

- Total Parenteral Nutrition (TPN) for adults and neonates

- Cytotoxic chemotherapy

- Monoclonal antibody therapies

- CIVAS products

- Radiopharmaceuticals

- Clinical trial medicines

Working within cleanroom environments and Grade A isolators, you will use advanced aseptic techniques to prepare medicines safely and accurately for individual patients and batch production.

You will use your pre and in-process checking (PIPC) qualification to perform sessions of accuracy checking at appropriate stages of manufacture.

The role also includes supervising and supporting staff, engaging with quality assurance activities, environmental monitoring, and helping to maintain compliance with GMP and departmental Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

Deputising for the senior technician(s) where necessary may also be required.

The successful applicant will be expected to:

- Participate in weekend and bank holiday rotas.

- Work flexibly across hospital sites where required.

- Maintain continuing professional development.

- Successfully complete the required pre-employment checks, including a satisfactory DBS clearance.

- Must be able to demonstrate suitable level of post qualification experience in aseptic service
- Experience of working in aseptic/clean room environment
- Experience of working as an Accredited Checking Technician
- Experience of working with radiopharmaceuticals
- Working in hospital pharmacy dispensary services

**Desirable**

- Experience of patient-orientated medicines systems

### Aptitude / Abilities / Skills

**Essential**

- Well motivated, good attention to detail, organised and adaptable
- Ability to maintain concentration for long periods of time
- Able to communicate effectively with a variety of service users
- Able to use IT to use the pharmacy system, produce reports, gather and analyse data and produce presentations
- Ability to work under pressure / to time schedules

### Qualifications and/or Knowledge

**Essential**

- Registered Pharmacy Technician with the General Pharmaceutical Council
- BTEC in Pharmaceutical Sciences or equivalent
- Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Pharmacy Services Skills (QCF) or equivalent
- Completed All Wales Accredited Checking Pharmacy Technician Qualification
- Completed specialist post-qualification training in aseptic processing of radioisotopes, cytotoxic chemotherapy, CIVAS and parenteral nutrition (neonatal and adult)
- Knowledge, understanding and experience of Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) and QA and its application to Aseptic processing
- Knowledge of COSSH regulations
- Good understanding of operation of hospital pharmacy services

**Desirable**

- Membership of relevant professional Association
- Completed Leeds University Aseptic Preparation & Dispensing of Medicines short course (APDM)
- Knowledge of Ionising Radiation (Medical Exposure) Regulations 2000 (IRMER)
