### Job overview

We are seeking enthusiastic and motivated pharmacy assistants to join our Pharmacy team at Imperial. You will work within our busy Dispensary and Distribution Team, delivering a high-quality, patient-focused service. This includes using robotic dispensing systems, managing stock, supporting wards and clinics, and assisting pharmacy stores.

The role involves manual handling as part of day-to-day duties and  is a fast-paced and sometimes a demanding role, especially during busy periods, but it is highly rewarding and offers the opportunity to make a real difference to patient care.

We are looking for someone committed, adaptable, and able to work under pressure. If you have just completed college and are unsure which path to follow, this could be a great opportunity to explore a career in healthcare.

You will be part of a hands-on, supportive team in a diverse and multicultural environment where teamwork is essential. The role requires flexibility, with occasional weekend working.

A minimum of Grade 4 (or equivalent) in Maths and English is essential. We are committed to your development, offering opportunities to complete an NVQ and progress to a Pharmacy Technician apprenticeship. ### Main duties of the job

- To assist in the provision of a high quality, patient focused dispensing service to patients of the Trust and associated hospitals.
- To assist in the provision of a high quality ‘topping up’ and ‘self-ordering’ distribution service of pharmaceutical supplies to wards, clinics and associated areas.
- To assist in the provision of a high quality stores service to the dispensary, wards, clinics and associated areas.
- To ensure that stock levels for ‘topped up’ areas are appropriate and that the stock is in date and adequately rotated.
- In association with the senior technician, ward/department manager and specialist pharmacists to ensure that stock lists are updated and adequately reflect the needs of the area.
- To partake in the TTO packs over-labelling service and support the over-labelling assistant (Charing Cross only).
- To undertake day to day housekeeping tasks and other basic duties as per section rota’s.
- To assist in the filling of the automated dispensing system (Robot) and associated stock take and maintenance tasks.

### Skills

**Essential**

- Able to work under pressure
- Able to work both alone and within a team
- Good ability to organise and prioritise work

**Desirable**

- A good understanding of all Microsoft Office programs

### Education

**Essential**

- GCSE in Maths and English (grade A-C)

**Desirable**

- NVQ Level 2 in Pharmacy Services (or equivalent e.g. Boots, Buttercups, NPA)

### Experience

**Essential**

- Able to work with computers
- Experience working in a hospital or customer orientated environment

**Desirable**

- Experience using CMM system
- Experience with Automated Dispensing Systems (Robot)
- Experience working in a community or hospital pharmacy, or dispensing GP practice
