Pharmacy@Bucks is an innovative Outpatient Dispensing service that combines the knowledge of a community and a hospital Pharmacy to provide exemplary service to all our patients. ### Main duties of the job

All Outpatient Pharmacies across Amersham, Stoke Mandeville and High Wycombe are run by Buckinghamshire Health Projects Ltd (BHPL), a wholly owned subsidiary of Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust. Pharmacy@Bucks provides dispensing services from outpatient prescriptions issued by BHT and advice to BHT staff and visitors, with the option to provide Over the counter (OTC) medicines in the near future. Since the start of Pharmacy@Bucks, we have seen the professional development of our keen staff members, ranging from Pharmacy Assistants, Pharmacy Technicians and Accuracy checking Pharmacy Technicians to Pharmacist Managers and Lead Pharmacists. We would like to welcome two keen Pharmacy Assistants to our ever-growing team with a passion to learn, develop and grow in their role. This unique role offers the chance to be part of a growing team within our outpatient Pharmacies at Amersham, High Wycombe and/or Stoke Mandeville Hospital with potential to work cross-site. This will enable you to develop your career in a fast-paced environment, whilst providing a customer focused and critical service to patients. You will be supported with the right training to ensure that you have the skills and knowledge required for working in a hospital setting. The chosen candidate will receive in-house training, including labelling and dispensing of Outpatient prescriptions, ordering medication and the use of our medicine management system. Students, trainees and other suitable working patterns will be considered. The post holder will be required to work cross sites to provide holiday and sickness cover within our outpatient Pharmacies in Stoke Mandeville, High Wycombe and Amersham Hospital.

## Person Specification

### Experience

**Essential**

- Employ good interpersonal and communication skills with work colleagues and with customers.
- Ability to work as a team member and have the ability to work on own initiative, completing allocated work and ensuring staff rotas are complied with.
- Computer literate with good general keyboard skills. This includes using the pharmacy computer systems, including ordering, receiving, booking stocks into system and invoicing

### Special Circumstances

**Essential**

- Able to travel to our other pharmacy sites (Amersham and High Wycombe) and venues for training.
- Participate in 1:6 back-up weekend rota for covering planned and unplanned absences.

### Information Technology

**Essential**

- Excellent ability in using basic Microsoft Office applications including Microsoft Word and Excel.

### Education, Professional Qualifications & Training

**Essential**

- GCSEs Grades A*- C (or equivalent) including Math and English.
- Experience in stock management.

**Desirable**

- NVQ2 in Pharmacy Services
