Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust is recruiting enthusiastic and motivated Band 3 Senior Pharmacy Assistants to join the Pharmacy Teams.

About the Role

As part of the Pharmacy Dispensary and Distribution Team, you will:

- Support the delivery of a high-quality, patient-focused pharmacy service.
- Assist with robotic dispensing of medicines.
- Provide stock management services for wards and clinics.
- Support the work of the pharmacy stores department.
- Contribute to the efficient supply and distribution of medicines across the Trust.
- Help ensure safe and effective patient care through pharmacy operations.

### Main duties of the job

- To assist in the provision of a high quality, patient focused dispensing service to patients of the Trust and associated hospitals.
- To assist in the provision of a high quality ‘topping up’ and ‘self-ordering’ distribution service of pharmaceutical supplies to wards, clinics and associated areas.
- To assist in the provision of a high quality stores service to the dispensary, wards, clinics and associated areas.
- To ensure that stock levels for ‘topped up’ areas are appropriate and that the stock is in date and adequately rotated.
- In association with the senior technician, ward/department manager and specialist pharmacists to ensure that stock lists are updated and adequately reflect the needs of the area.

### Applicant requirements

The postholder will have access to vulnerable people in the course of their normal duties and as such this post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (Amendment) (England and Wales) Order 2020 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service to check for any previous criminal convictions.

## Person Specification

### Experience

**Essential**

- Able to work with computers
- Experience working in a hospital or customer orientated environment

**Desirable**

- Experience using CMM system
- Experience with Automated Dispensing Systems (Robot)
- Experience working in a community or hospital pharmacy, or dispensing GP practice

### Education / Qualifications

**Essential**

- GCSE in Maths and English (minimum grade 4)

**Desirable**

- NVQ Level 2 in Pharmacy Services (or equivalent e.g. Boots, Buttercups, NPA) Note: NVQ2 must be achieved within 12 months of commencement of course.

### Skills/knowledge/ abilities

**Essential**

- Able to work both alone and within a team
- Good ability to organise and prioritise work
- Able to recognise the limits of own competence and escalate to senior member of the team
- Demonstrates awareness of and commitment to the Clinical Governance and quality agenda

**Desirable**

- A good understanding of Microsoft Office programs
