We would love for you to join our compassionate and nurturing Medicines Management Team.  An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our highly supportive inpatient team as a Clinical Mental Health Pharmacist.  The post is based across the two sites of Ormskirk District General Hospital and Chorley District Hospital, covering a range of mental health wards, including a psychiatric intensive care unit and acute adult mental health wards.

### Main duties of the job

Hospital and/or mental health experience is desirable but not essential, as we offer an award‑winning in‑house training programme designed to support the successful candidate in developing the necessary skills and confidence for the role.  There may also be opportunities to access further development, including the Aston University distance‑learning Postgraduate Certificate in Psychiatric Therapeutics (accredited by the College of Mental Health Pharmacy).  In addition, we provide access to a range of other courses and training events to support your ongoing clinical, professional, and personal development.  The post will provide opportunities for the following:
- Pharmaceutical care planning and clinical review of prescriptions
- Involvement in multidisciplinary ward rounds
- Provision of medicines information to service users and staff
- Opportunity to experience pharmacy practice across inpatient services and community teams
- Supporting the development of robust medicines management processes
- Actively working to deliver the Trust medicines optimisation strategy
- Ensuring compliance with GPhC standards for dispensing
- Clinical audit  Lancashire & South Cumbria NHS Foundation Trust has fully implemented electronic prescribing and medicines administration systems across all inpatient settings.  Due to the location of various units, an ability and willingness to travel around Trust locations is required. There is no requirement to work bank holidays or weekends.
