### Job summary

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a motivated and enthusiastic pharmacist to join South West Yorkshire Partnership NHS Foundation Trust. We welcome applications from qualified pharmacists and trainee pharmacists qualifying in Summer 2026 who are looking for a structured and supportive development pathway.

The post is based at Fieldhead Hospital, Wakefield with occasional travel required to other trust localities. It offers an excellent Band 6 to 7 progression route for those new to mental health or newly qualified. Progression to Band 7 is not automatic or timebased; it will only be achieved once the postholder has fully met the Band 7 person specification and demonstrated consistent competence across the internal development framework and engagement in postgraduate study. If the postholder does not meet the Band 7 competencies within the agreed timeframe, they will continue to work at Band 6 with an updated development plan, targeted support and regular review.

Applicants who already hold a postgraduate diploma and/or certificate in mental health pharmacy may be considered directly at Band 7.

The successful applicant will join a supportive, friendly and forwardthinking team. You will be encouraged to grow your confidence and clinical skills, apply your learning in practice, and develop into the pharmacy professional you aspire to be.

### Main duties of the job

The post holder will provide pharmacy services across a range of mental health settings, including inpatient wards, forensic units, community mental health teams and learning disability services. You will also work closely with primary care and wider healthcare teams through medicines information, advice and guidance to both professionals and patients.

The role will involve:

- Provision of clinical pharmacy services to allocated teams.
- Delivery of highquality, patientfocused pharmaceutical care.
- Providing medicines information and advice to healthcare professionals and patients.
- Active contribution to multidisciplinary teams, where pharmacy input is valued and supported.
- Opportunities to participate in clinical audit and quality improvement.
- Contributing to pharmacy team meetings and service development.
- Undertaking postgraduate study as part of the Band 67 development pathway.
- Participation in the Saturday, Bank Holiday and oncall rotas.
