ABOUT THE ROLE As a Peripatetic Care Assistant with Barchester care homes, you'll deliver warm, empathetic and respectful care and support across a 20-mile radius to help our residents get the most out of life. On a practical level, you can expect to monitor the delivery of care when on duty, contribute to the person-centred care planning process for each resident and record observations on things like temperature and blood pressure amongst a range of other important tasks. The role of Peripatetic Care Assistant is very varied and also involves providing support and companionship. This is a full time role 48hrs days and nights. It's vital for us that every resident enjoys meaningful one-to-one time with our carers, every single shift. Candidates must have a full driving licence as to support all homes in the region. ### Main duties of the job

As a Peripatetic Care Assistant with Barchester care homes, you'll deliver warm, empathetic and respectful care and support across a 20-mile radius to help our residents get the most out of life. You can expect to monitor the delivery of care, contribute to the person-centred care planning process for each resident, and record observations on things like temperature and blood pressure amongst other important tasks. The role also involves providing support and companionship. This is a full-time role of 48 hours covering days and nights, where it is vital that every resident enjoys meaningful one-to-one time with our carers every shift. A full driving licence is necessary to support all homes in the region. Candidates should have a background in care, a good understanding of elderly care, possibly a Level 2 NVQ in Health & Social Care, and preferably a C or above in GCSE English and Maths. A car or access to one is required for travel across the area, and mileage is covered when travelling over five miles from the main home. Additionally, bonuses are available for certain achievements like a 'Good' inspection rating when on duty.
