### Job summary

23 hours per week, permanent position

As a People Advisor as part of our People Advisory team, the postholder will be supporting managers and staff across the Trust to deliver consistent, high quality people practices.

In this varied role, the postholder will provide expert advice on a wide range of employee relations matters, including disciplinary, grievance, performance and absence cases, ensuring these are managed fairly, efficiently and in line with policy and employment law.

The postholder will work closely with managers, trade union representatives and colleagues to support change initiatives, build management capability and contribute to a positive, inclusive working culture.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is confident managing casework, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and is passionate about making a difference to staff experience and organisational effectiveness.

### Main duties of the job

Provide high quality HR advice and support to managers across the Trust on a range of workforce matters, ensuring compliance with employment law, policy and best practice.

Manage a varied employee relations caseload, including disciplinary, grievance, bullying and harassment, performance and absence cases, supporting managers through investigations, hearings and outcomes.

Support organisational change initiatives, including consultation processes and engagement with trade union representatives.

Analyse workforce data, including sickness absence trends, to support effective decision-making and drive improvements.

Build management capability by providing coaching, guidance and delivering training on HR policies, procedures and good practice.

Contribute to the development and review of HR policies and support wider People projects, including workforce planning, equality and diversity, and engagement initiatives.

Use workforce systems to provide accurate information and support the effective management of staff.

Work collaboratively with colleagues across the organisation to promote a positive, inclusive and high performing culture.

## Person Specification

### Knowledge

**Essential**

- Current Employment Law and HR practice.
- Good practice and legislation on equality and diversity.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Windows environment.
- Knowledge of email

**Desirable**

- Agenda for Change and / or Medical and Dental terms and conditions

### Experience

**Essential**

- Previous experience in HR setting, such as recruitment, employee relations, workforce information or development if suitably qualified
- Experience of working with confidential and sensitive information
- Experience of ability to manage conflict

**Desirable**

- Experience of working in an employee relations field and managing ER case work
- Experience of working in the NHS
- Experience of working with medical staffing

### Qualifications

**Essential**

- Educated to degree level standard in a relevant subject or equivalent additional experience at advisory level
- Associate membership of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD) through intermediate study (at level 5 or higher), or significant progress towards completion, or significant experience at senior advisory level
- Evidence of continued professional development (CPD)

- The ability to assimilate and disseminate information effectively
- Ability to compile reports/briefing papers
