We are seeking a full-time Peer Support Worker to join the Primary Care Mental Health Network based in Goole, within Humber Teaching NHS Foundation Trust. This role is for someone with lived experience of accessing mental health services and personal recovery who is ready to use that experience in a purposeful and professional way. As a Peer Support Worker, you will work alongside clinical colleagues to support individuals accessing primary care mental health services, promoting hope, empowerment and self-management. You will build supportive peer relationships, share recovery-focused tools and strategies, and support individuals to identify and work towards meaningful personal goals. The role includes signposting to community resources, supporting attendance at appointments or activities where appropriate, and contributing to recovery planning within a multidisciplinary team. You must be able to share aspects of your lived experience safely and constructively, maintain professional boundaries, and work as part of a team. This is a full-time post based in Goole. The role involves travel across the local area; therefore access to independent transport is essential. ### Main duties of the job As a Peer Support Worker within the Primary Care Mental Health Network, you will work as part of a multidisciplinary team supporting individuals accessing primary mental health services. Using your lived experience of recovery, you will build purposeful peer relationships that promote hope, empowerment and self-belief. You will support individuals to identify strengths, set meaningful goals and contribute to personalised Recovery Action Plans alongside clinicians. Key duties include providing one-to-one peer support, sharing coping strategies and self-management tools, signposting to community resources, and supporting attendance at appointments or activities where appropriate. You will feedback relevant observations to the team to support safe, coordinated care and recognise changes in wellbeing, responding in line with training and Trust policy. You will promote strengths-based practice, maintain accurate electronic records, and work within professional boundaries at all times. Participation in supervision and required training, including completion of the Level 3 Apprenticeship Framework if not already achieved, is expected. The role requires resilience, flexibility and the ability to manage emotionally sensitive situations.
