We are excited to announce a rewarding opportunity for an experienced and innovative Peer Support Worker to join our inpatient rehabilitation wards. In this role, you will lead client-centered activities that inspire hope, promote control, and create opportunities for service users transitioning from hospital to community life.

Your primary focus will be on engaging long-term inpatients who may feel stuck, assisting them in various ways, such as:

- Building trust with patients who are feeling unmotivated or isolated - Encouraging hope by sharing lived experiences - Supporting recovery-oriented goals in collaboration with clinical staff - Helping to reduce readmissions by fostering community connections and resilience

By openly sharing aspects of your own journey through mental health challenges and service navigation, you will instill hope and demonstrate that recovery is achievable for others.

Additionally, you will serve as an ambassador for Recovery alongside other Trust Recovery champions, working collaboratively with external agencies and partner organisations.

### Experience

**Essential**

- Post holders must have direct, personal, lived experience of using mental health services as a service user.
- Post holders must have direct, personal, lived experience of using mental health services as a service user.

- Experience of working in a small team
- Supporting individuals to resolve their own problems
- Working within a referral system.
- Working with a range of disadvantaged groups e.g. disabled people, BME (Black and Minority Ethnic) communities.

### Knowledge and Skills

**Essential**

- An ability to deal with information in a confidential manner and respond with sensitivity to the opinions of others.

**Desirable**

- Have some knowledge about forensic services (low and medium secure) and client base
- Commitment to involving service users in their own recovery.
