If it is identified that you require sponsorship to undertake this role your application may be withdrawn We are seeking a Peer Learning Support Worker to join our team at Thurrock Recovery College. Peer learning support workers are people who have lived experienced of mental health difficulties and are seen as experts by experience. The role is twofold: To work alongside the Recovery College team to assist in the co-production of design and delivery of recovery focused courses and workshops for students. To support students who require guidance to explore individual learning opportunities within the Recovery college and gain support in identifying, choosing, applying and if necessary, attending college courses. The Recovery College is open for registration/enrolment and study. Courses are held within the various adult community venues throughout the borough of Thurrock. ### Main duties of the job The successful applicant will provide, create and deliver a range of complex and sensitive recovery focused courses/workshops and provide specialist advice in relation to Recovery for service users, their supporters and staff, using a hub and spoke model. You will liaise with local organisations in order to develop jointly delivered courses/workshops and to improve opportunities for the social inclusion of mental health service users, identifying and addressing additional learning supports that students may need to have to enable them to undertake and complete courses. As a Peer Learning Support Worker, you will demonstrate an awareness of the needs of the students, who experience mental health difficulties. If they present as are unwell and require clinical help, support them to seek assistance through their GP or mental health service. ### Detailed job description and main responsibilities Please see job description for details information: including but not limited to: - To provide, create and deliver a range of complex and sensitive recovery focused courses/workshops for service users, their supporters and staff, using a hub and spoke model. - When teaching there may be occasional exposure to distressing or emotional circumstances which could be highly sensitive as well as when supporting other trainers who have been teaching.
